acorns
There’s an app called “Acorns” on the Apple Store and Samsung app store. This app is a smaller and safer investment app for the girlies who are scared to take risks and jump straight into stocks. Acorns allows you to invest at your own pace and comfort levels, or deep dive into investments if you want to. There are different subscription plans.
There’s a personal option, which is only $3 a month. However, once you put money into your account, it starts building more money off of itself. You can allow acorns to take a certain amount of money from your account per week. You can also turn on the “round up” option, which evens out all your purchases. For example, if you’re purchasing something that costs $5.25, your card will actually spend $6.00 because the remaining 0.75 cents will go to your acorn investments.
The weekly investments and round up options can be applied to the $5/monthly and $9/monthly subscriptions as well. These subscriptions, of course, offer more. Such as helping you build an emergency fund, “acorns Later,” and retirement accounts.
self.
The app “self.” is my favorite concept. In this economy and job market, I’ve had my fair share of times when it was hard to save and even maintain my credit. The app “self” allows you to make an account and pick a certain amount to put into it monthly. This app allows your money to sit in your account and build more money off of itself, and it forces you to save it as well, given that it’s no longer in your actual bank account. And because you’re keeping up with it monthly, it builds up your credit. At the end of your plan, the app deposits you a paycheck, sending all of your money back, plus more. Then, boom, it feels like you just received free money. But in reality, you saved and invested. And your credit is better for it!
veryable
Veryable is the perfect app for you if you’re in between jobs and simply need some extra money under your belt. You sign up in the app, and bid on jobs near your area. Typically, they’re one time jobs, unless you bid for that one again on another day. For example, if specs wants an extra employee tomorrow to put wine bottles into boxes, you can bid on doing that for a day on Veryable. The smallest offers I have seen are $130 for a day. However, most of them are around $150. And even better, when bidding, you can request more. Absolutely anyone can do this. I got approved on my very first bid I ever made. Then, you get paid immediately, as opposed to every week or every other week. Veryable also allows you to open a debit card through them, which is pretty cool.
AI
There are self-contracted jobs (self-paced) by Outlier that you can find on Indeed. I actually work for someone myself as a writing evaluator. I make $18 per hour. However, most of the positions are $35–$50 per hour. I get paid weekly and can confirm it’s not a scam. What’s nice about my job is that it’s therapeutic and remote. Assuming you don’t have to fully focus on something else, you can even multitask while working. For example, if you’re a substitute who mostly just sits down for work, you can do so while doing AI work. Then, you’re making money from two jobs at the same time.
scholarships
Sometimes we don’t think about this enough. But, apply for scholarships!!! That’s all.
financial feminist
Financial Feminist is a podcaster who gives lots of financial advice. If you need a push of motivation, or just don’t understand the economy as well as you’d prefer, she’s a great source.
HelloFresh
I recently joined HelloFresh for observational purposes. I have friends who have used HelloFresh and had a pleasant experience. When I explored the options myself, I noticed they cater to all sorts of diets, price ranges, portions, and cooking skills. Example, I wanted five meals a week that take no more than 40 minutes to prepare, are high in protein, and include vegetables. My total came out to $45. It was over half off, but it was still insane. They do random “sales” and on top all of that, you get to pick free appetizers and desserts to order with your fresh ingredients. Some of the meals come pre-made, leaving you with just the simple to task of heating it up. Lastly, you can also earn rewards that benefit you financially.
side hustles
Find a side hustle you enjoy. If it’s blogging, then start writing blogs and attach ads to them. Promote your website on Tiktok. Boost your video on Tiktok by disappearing for 12 hours from the app (this will take will power). TikTok will then boost your video so that you get a bunch of notifications because that’s Tiktok’s marketing tactic to get you back on the app. Trust me, it works. I got 18,000 likes on a video once for doing this. It was a cool ass astrology video, in which you could tell I was knowledgeable with zodiacs. However, I do believe me leaving the app for the day is why it blew up. I learned this trick from another Tiktok influencer during COVID era. Don’t ask me who it was cause I forgot.
