My best friend Reham had two tickets to a D4vd concert, so she invited me. I wasn’t going to turn down a concert, and I’m always open to discovering new music. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure who he was before going. But when she showed me songs that she knew I probably heard on Tiktok, I recognized him. So immediately I got excited. These songs were called Romantic Homicide and Here With Me.
When we got to the concert, there was a long line of people. We waited our turn in line while taking selfies. Once we got into the small auditorium, surprisingly there wasn’t a lot of people by the stage. So we quickly claimed our spots, which was much closer to the stage than where we were located at the Madison Beer concert.
The opener was Scott James. He has a very mellow voice that isn’t necessarily high or low. In the best way possible. His music reminded me of Radiohead. He definitely smoked a blunt or something before getting on stage, cause he seemed high. He had a dry sense of humor, and I loved it!
When D4vd made his appearance on stage, everyone got excited obviously. Due to his edgy vibe, I expected most of his music to lean more punk. But in fact, he’s very indie-sounding. If you know me, you know indie has been my favorite genre of music for like a decade now. I also love punk music, like MGK or Lil Peep. So either way I was excited even before learning that it was going to sound like an indie concert. I say sound because visually it was still punk.
Although his music was impeccable, my favorite part of the show was his quirky personality and how safe I felt in his presence. He has a little sister, and it shows. When singing a song he wrote about how worthy a special someone is, he said to the crowd, “this is for you ladies.” At some point, someone passed out. He stopped the show in the middle of a song to make sure someone brought her water and that she had enough space. After making sure she was okay, he started the song over. I swear he did like twelve back flips throughout the show, and would talk to us in different accents. He’s funny and caring. I struggle supporting artists if I don’t truly feel like they’re a good person, but he impressed me with his performance, singing, engagement with the audience, and his entire personality. I sound so corny right now but whatever.
After the concert, I posted a video on my Instagram story from the concert and tagged him. The next morning I woke up to seeing that he liked my story! I was soooo happy. Anyway, the concert experience was 11/10. I highly suggest going if you’re reading this and ever get the chance to see him. I would go again 1000%.
Thank you D4vd for a fun night. Mwah
