Dear Madison…

Last night, May 29th, my best friend (shout out to Reham) took me to the Madison Beer concert. Surprisingly, the tickets were only twenty something dollars. I recall Madison stating that it bothered her that people didn’t take her seriously for her work and cared more about her pretty looks. I realized how true that was when we saw the ticket prices. I have been listening to her music for three years ever since Life Support was released, and I knew this concert would be as ethereal and intimate as it was. I will say that the Madison you see in photos and videos is truly her; she ain’t no catfish. And her voice isn’t a catfish either; it’s very sultry and sounds the same as it does on Spotify.

I don’t normally lean towards softer music, which is why I was more of a Life Support girly. That said, after hearing a good mix of her songs live, I have a stronger appreciation for songs like Reckless, Selfish, Sweet Relief, and Home To Another One. The songs I was super duper looking forward to were Dear Society and Follow The White Rabbit. Dear Society was the song that initially got me listening to Madison Beer, I had discovered it right before Life Support was released. Then, Follow The White Rabbit became one of my top three in her discography. Her performance to that song was epic, the beginning felt like I was watching an intro to a live music video. It’s an amazing sensation to hear these songs live after listening to them several times privately in my car. As for the songs I wasn’t all over before the concert, I have a greater appreciation for after the concert. Like Reckless, as I said before, she made a soft ballad so fun. And she yelled, “She must be perfect, oh well. I hope you both go to hell,” which let out more energy and made it that much more relatable. You realize that, as pretty as she is, she has her insecurities too, and she’s a human being, despite her fame.

I accidentally, sort of, twinned with her. Our dresses were the exact same shape, except hers seemed to be a dark jean material with sparkles at the bottom. Mine was a dark grey shade and edgier. We looked so cutesy!

Overall, the concert was a very captivating performance. I would 100% pay to see her again.

xoxo, society.
