Good morning,
It’s February 26th, and I’m spending my morning in the waiting area of the service department at Chevrolet. They’re replacing my three missing windows- don’t ask why they were missing, LOL. I’m entertaining myself on Peacock, watching my favorite reality shows, per usual.
Couple to Throuple
I finished the last of the unwatched released episodes of season 1 to Couple to Throuple. That is, episode 9, “Acceptance.” Thursday, the next episode will be release, I only have to wait 72-ish hours.
What drew me to this show was my personal interest in polyamory. I have a personally been involved in a non-serious throuple. We would go have fun on lighthearted dates. I have also been in an open relationship in my previous relationship. Before these experiences, I never saw myself doing such a thing with a partner I saw a future with due to my jealousy issues. Going forward, if I ever do share someone I consider a life partner, it would only be temporarily and for experience. I would of course have my own set of boundaries.
My reason for watching this show, aside from entertainment, was to learn from other people’s perspectives. My favorite cast member on the show, Becca, said something I resonated with, and that’s that she became polyamorous due to her history of being cheated on. She decided that she wasn’t jealous of the actions, but disappointed in the lies and miscommunication. She decided that being open would solve this issue, because then her future partners can be themselves unapologetically and fearlessly. She said she’s seen a huge elevation in her love life since becoming polyamorous.
I see several perks to being polyamorous and/or in a throuple dynamic; a threelationship, if you will. Women and men who are bisexual, get the best of both worlds. They have the opportunity to get a taste of masculinity and femininity within their relationships. Secondly, there’s more harmony in a relationship when bringing in a third. More perspective, life advice, and emotional support. A second person to be there in a time of need if the other is unavailable at the time. Lastly, it relieves some of the financial stressors! A throuple typically shares a bed, probably a king-size. Therefore, if they wanted to do so for their financial convenience, they could live in a one-bedroom apartment and split the pay three ways. That creates room in their budget to pick a one-bedroom apartment at a complex that’s on the more luxurious side.
After finishing episode 9, the cast is at the point of the season where they’re about to make the decision on where or not they would like to commit to their chosen third. The real world, outside of this fantasy island, will put their threelationship to the test for real. Taking on these threelationships in the real world will be more telling for them on whether or not they’re truly compatible as a throuple. So, I’m pretty excited for the next episode to get released this Thursday to say the least.
Vanderpump Rules
After finishing what was left of Couple to Throuple on Peacock, I continued watching the after show of Vanderpump Rules, season 11. I have kept up with season 11, but not so much the after shows. So I figured, why not? I have watched Vanderpump all the way through at least six times; I lost count after eight. Then, I have also jumped around and watched random parts of the show multiple other times. VPR has been my comfort show since, I believe, 2018. Most people were more drawn to that show after Scandavol broke the news and social media outlets. There’s so much to say about VPR, that I would have to create whole separate blog post to really unpack it all. So for now, I’m just leaving this here to let y’all know VPR helped me remain entertained.
Southern Hospitality
I began season two of Southern Hospitality. I saw it was released, and recall sitting on the edge of my seat when watching season one. So far, Leva is firing workers for drinking on the job. One bottle service girl, Mia, confronted Leva, the boss, for firing a single mom for drinking. She said it’s hypocritical since other workers have drank on the job, including herself. Therefore, Leva fired Mia on the spot, right then and there. Before that conversation, Leva claims she never knew that Mia had drank on the job up until that moment. Leva also claimed she gave the previous terminated employee (the single mom) several chances, and brought her back after maternity leave. Mia argued that that’s something all companies do for women, and it should’ve been a given. To be honest, I see both sides. It’s hypocritical to not hire everyone who has drank, however, I give Leva the benefit of the doubt in not knowing that pretty much all of her staff, besides Maddie, has drank on the job. But also, she shouldn’t be put on a pedestal for allowing the single mom to come back to work for her after maternity leave. But taking that out of the equation, I can understand letting employees go for drinking on the job. Unless customers are buying them drinks, it’s taking money out of the pockets of Leva. Leva worked hard to get to where she’s at as a business owner. Plus, drinking on the job can turn into a sloppy situation. It can cause hazards, alcoholism, or even club fights with each other or customers. You just never know. Bottle service girls are there to provide good conversations and alcohol to customers. That said, most of the employees claim that some of their best nights regarding tips were when they were consuming alcohol with the customers. If it’s gone smoothly for them historically, who am I to say what’s best? Especially if the alcohol employees consume is at least being paid for. That’s the one thing I wish I had an answer to. Other than that, the only other fruitful piece of entertainment that I encountered so far in episode one was at the beginning, when they gave sneak peeks to Maddie finding out that her boyfriend cheated on her… again. To recap a little bit of season one, Maddie got back with her cheating ex-boyfriend who is her current partner as of episode one of season two. Maddie got back with him despite his record and despite the low someone else had for her. So him cheating on her again will hopefully reach her a lesson and maybe bring regret to not giving the other guy a chance instead.
Cherry
Cherry is the name of my car who’s currently getting new windows placed on her. She should be done soon! The first thing I’m going to do once she’s ready is take her for a car wash, then freshen up the inside of her.
